Madeira Island - Portugal
We had a nice time attending church. However, everything was in Portuguese and there were a lot of people in attendance, so we only stayed for Sacrament Meeting.
We walked down to the town square.
On the way downtown we saw a nice park.
Notice the guy's hat in the bottom right. This is the local traditional hat.
We saw both tourists and other people wearing them.
Another lady at the Farmer's Market wearing the same type of hat.
We dropped into a church and got separated from Ryan's family
while they were distracted by gelato
We explored the rest of the town with Kim and Connie.
Ryan and his family went to a High Tea restaurant
They have a cool tram up the mountain
Up on top of the mountain they take tourists down sliding on these sleds.
A couple guys push from behind and you go whizzing down the streets.
Another church we stumbled across
We stopped for some lunch at a little shop making sandwiches
Connie's maiden name is Seal, so I think that is why they wanted to stop at this place.
